Filip, why did you choose to speak at the cONference? 💬
I love this topic because planning your operations career can be tough due to the many uncertainties involved. Operations roles can share the same title yet have entirely different scopes. Having gone through the process of finding a new role while I was unemployed, I understand how stressful and depressing it can be. I believe I have some useful tips that can help people navigate that situation and their early journey in Operations. My journey with Operations Nation has lasted 2.5 years now. I was extremely stressed and anxious when I flew from Poland to my first ON event right after I joined. The ON team and members have challenged and helped me countless times since then, and I am extremely grateful for that and happy that I risked it back then. When Charlene asked me to speak at the conference, I felt that familiar stress and anxiety. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone—public speaking is definitely outside it—was one of the things the ON team helped me with. I genuinely accepted, and I will try my best to give back to the community what I have received. I also think that many Ops people struggle with being in the spotlight since we usually work in the background. I would like to encourage those people by saying that we can do it even if it terrifies us. It won't get any better if we don't start doing it.
