As the first hire at SurrealDB, Lizzie has been instrumental in shaping the company’s culture, brand, and vision. Now, as Head of Operations, she works closely with the co-founders and Chief of Staff to grow the company from startup to scale-up, driving progress and process while collaborating with teams across operations, people, marketing, sales, and community.
Lizzie is dedicated to getting more women into tech and leadership roles. Her experience building inclusive, diverse, and dynamic communities led to co-founding the Women in Rust meetup group. Additionally, through SurrealDB’s partnership, she supports the newly relaunched Women Coding Community, continuing the mission of Women Who Code.
A fascination with startups and entrepreneurship encouraged Lizzie to found DEBUT in 2015, addressing the disconnect between classical music and the modern world. DEBUT’s innovative and intimate classical concert series has showcased over 200 musicians, regularly collaborating with the Royal Opera House, Shoreditch Treehouse, and Brunel Museum (Top 5 Airbnb Experience 2018).
A trained opera singer, Lizzie has performed across the UK’s top concert halls. As a freelance performer and Guest Lecturer on Creative Enterprise at the Royal College of Music, her portfolio career has taught her about the power of grit, innovation, and inspiration. Lizzie brings a unique and dynamic perspective to all her endeavours.
