Born, raised, and educated in Hong Kong, Elain began her career as a management consultant. Her nine years at Capgemini and PwC provided her with extensive knowledge, training, and experience working with Fortune 500 clients across management and operations on topics ranging from Lean, 6 Sigma, Shared Services & BPO to strategic workforce planning & analytics, cultural change programmes and international expansion.
Elain moved to Berlin, Germany in 2016, where her Ikigai further took her onto an adventurous journey as a start-up COO.
She was the COO of Passion.io, Bird Eats Bugs and Sideways6, and is currently the COO of Ember, an energy research thinktank. Elain is committed to pioneering and embracing modern working practices, including remote working (long before COVID), decentralized decision-making, and fostering diversity and inclusivity.
Since 2022, Elain has been part of the organizing team for the Berlin Chapter of COO Stories. She previously served on the Board of Hong Kong Mensa as a Director from 2007 to 2014.
She is a candidate for Insead’s COO Executive Education Diploma.
